Choosing the right skip bin is only half the job. Knowing what you can place inside it is just as important. Correct waste sorting keeps disposal costs down, supports recycling programs and ensures your bin is processed safely and compliantly.
Below is a simple breakdown of the main waste categories we accept, along with important notes to help you choose the right bin for your project.
Green Waste
Green waste is ideal for garden clean‑ups and outdoor projects. These materials are recycled into mulch and compost, so it is important that no other waste types are mixed in.
What you can place in a green waste bin
- Tree waste including branches, small stumps and leaves
- Garden weeds, grass, shrubs, plants and plant offcuts
Important: Green waste bins are for recycling only. Any non‑green waste placed inside will be treated as mixed waste. Please let us know at the time of booking so we can provide the correct skip hire price.
Household, Domestic and General Waste
This category covers everyday household items and non‑construction materials. It is suitable for clean‑outs, moving house or decluttering.
What you can place in a household waste bin
