Frequently Asked Questions
Can you provide a free quote?
Yes, we provide a free, no-obligation, fully detailed demolition quote via email. We do require access to walk around the outside of the property and into the backyard in order to provide an accurate quote. If the property is vacant, internal access is ideal so we can ensure the most precise pricing possible.
How much does demolition cost?
We do have a blog post that covers this, as costs vary significantly depending on a number of factors. Click here to read more about demolition costs. It’s not as straightforward as it may seem, as several variables are considered to provide an accurate quote. Fortunately, we offer free quotes, so please arrange yours today for more specific pricing.
What if the property is tenanted?
We can still provide you with a free demolition quote. You will need to notify your real estate agent and/or tenants that we will be attending the property. We will knock on the door to announce ourselves before inspecting the site. The last thing we want is for tenants to feel alarmed and contact the police when they see strangers on the property. In most cases, it’s helpful to advise them that internal access is not required at this stage.
Do I need to arrange service abolishments?
Yes, you will need to arrange the abolishment of gas, electricity, and any telecommunications services prior to the commencement of demolition works. Please note that water should remain connected and does not need to be abolished. For more information on the demolition process, please see here.
What about asbestos?
We use licensed and qualified asbestos subcontractors to safely remove and dispose of any asbestos found on site, in full compliance with WorkSafe guidelines and regulations.
Do I need a council permit for demolition?
Yes, a demolition permit is required; however, the correct term is a building permit, which we will arrange on your behalf. Don’t worry, this building permit is specifically for demolition purposes only and does not affect the building permit required for your new construction.
What can’t go in the waste bin?
We cannot accept hazardous or toxic materials, including friable asbestos, paint tins, chemicals, food waste, gas bottles, tyres, or mattresses. Click here for a full list of accepted waste types.
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes, we do offer same-day service, subject to availability.
Does the skip bin have doors?
Yes, all of our skip bins are walk-in bins. Each bin includes a rear access door, making it easy to load your waste by simply walking straight in.
How long can we keep the bin?
Skip bin hire is based on a 3-day hire period unless otherwise confirmed at the time of booking. Once the bin is full, please ensure the waste remains level with the fill marker shown on the bin. Simply notify us when it’s ready for collection, and we’ll arrange pickup as soon as a truck is available in your area. If you require the bin for longer than 3 days, please contact us to discuss extended hire options.
How do I know what size skip bin I’ll need?
If you neatly stack your waste into a pile, you can estimate the required bin size by multiplying the height, width, and length (H × W × L) of the pile. This will give you an approximate volume in cubic metres, helping you choose the right skip bin size for your needs. Alternatively, check out our skip bin size guide for further assistance.
Can the skip bin be placed on the road?
Most skip bins can be placed on the road; however, additional fees may apply as a council permit is required. We can organise the permit on your behalf. As permit requirements and fees vary between councils, please contact us to confirm availability and pricing for your area.
