Selecting the right skip bin size can save you time, money and unnecessary hassle. Whether you’re clearing out a home, renovating, landscaping or managing construction waste, understanding what each bin size can handle makes the entire process smoother.

Below is a clear breakdown of our most popular walk‑in skip bin sizes, what they’re best suited for, and how much waste they typically hold.

4 Cubic Metres (4m³)

Best for: Small clean‑ups, light to heavy mixed waste

Dimensions: 3.5m (L) × 1.9m (W) × 0.65m (H)

Capacity: ~16 wheelie bins

Our smallest walk‑in skip bin is ideal for minor projects such as decluttering, garden clean‑ups or small renovation waste. Despite its compact size, it can take light, mixed or heavy waste with ease.

6 Cubic Metres (6m³)

Best for: General waste, renovation waste, mixed site waste

Dimensions: 4m (L) × 2m (W) × 0.75m (H)

Capacity: ~24 wheelie bins

A customer favourite and one of the most versatile sizes. This bin suits almost any site and handles a wide range of waste types, from household rubbish to construction debris.

8 Cubic Metres (8m³)

Best for: Building waste, landscaping, heavy materials

Dimensions: 4m (L) × 2m (W) × 1m (H)

Capacity: ~32 wheelie bins

Perfect for larger renovation or landscaping projects, this bin comfortably handles soil, concrete, bricks, heavy loads and mixed waste. It’s a reliable choice for builders and homeowners tackling bigger jobs.

10 Cubic Metres (10m³)

Best for: Light mixed waste, household clean‑outs, green waste

Dimensions: 4.5m (L) × 2.2m (W) × 1m (H)

Capacity: ~40 wheelie bins

A spacious option for major clean‑ups or bulky household waste. This bin is not suitable for heavy materials, so it’s important to ensure your waste type aligns with the bin’s load restrictions. Also check that your site has enough access space for delivery and pick‑up.

Need Something Bigger?

These four sizes are our most popular walk‑in skip bins — but they’re not the only sizes we offer. We also provide a larger range of skip bins for specialised projects. These bins require a quick call so we can confirm suitability, access requirements and load restrictions.

If you’re unsure which size is right for your project, our team is always happy to help.
